just got into the aptana ide, what a wonderful opensource concept. I hope to integrate more js libraries with my work like you guys have done (dojo, jquery, etc). I've been dragging my feet doing some graphic design at work, since I mostly work with backend scripting languages (php), I found myself lacking the tools to design away with efficiency.

Recently, I found an opensource wysiwyg editor named komposer which helps with css right brain work. I call what I do an online pressman work because I'm usually moving info from one place to another (xml, odbc) and developing the structures for the creatives to play in, and data to sit. I mostly work in the background of joomla modifying existing opensource to suit my purposes, and have yet to upgrade my existing xajax knowledge with a better library.

I'm sort of a developer, but really just a hacker. I've taught myself javascript, ASP, VB, SQL and vb.NET. I've written a few different systems - content management, ecommerce, multiple language sites, XML integration, and a ticketing/help windows app. I think the only thing I haven't sat down and written is a social network. LOL. I don't *work* as a developer, instead I have a small advertising income from my websites. I'm pretty rusty.

I've encountered PHP before, but to be honest, all those dollar signs, curly brackets and question marks make my eyes cross. This is a bit of a problem because all the social networks out there seem to be written in PHP. I'm quite interested in Social Engine right now, but having difficulty getting to grips with it all. My partner knows PHP better than me, and between us we could probably hack some stuff together.

Edit: I should clarify, I'm definitely not looking for work, I'm just making conversation.
